With the aim of establishing collaboration links, executives of the Superior Organization of Business Management (OSDE) Water and Sanitation and the rector and deans of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría (CUJAE) met today at the Convention Center of Havana.

Modesto Gómez, rector of the House of Higher Studies, expressed his will that the alliance represent a model of university-company collaboration and to contribute from future actions to its improvement.

To develop these relationships, the corresponding legal frameworks were established, Gómez stressed, who pointed out that the objective is to establish a win-win relationship, with a focus always on sustainable solutions.

Possible lines of collaboration between Cujae and OSDE include the optimal calculation and design of hydraulic networks, the implementation of industrial and wastewater treatment systems, and the design and optimization of sewerage networks.

The Energy, Environment and Industry programs are among the most akin to this initiative promoted by this university on a prioritized basis.

According to Abel Salas García, president of the OSDE Agua y Saneamiento, this will be the first in a series of meetings that will strengthen relations with the academy, also by linking its students to the entity's processes.

Professors and specialists from both centers, leaders in innovation and technological development in Cuba, also participated in the meeting this Thursday.

The collaborative initiative is based on the call at the country level around the need to integrate knowledge and academic methodologies for the development of knowledge into business practices.

In this way, it is possible to notice a process of knowledge transfer between the universities and the Government and the different ways of managing the economy, through strategic alliances that allow solving problems on both sides.
